Notice to competitors for the Northern Ireland Open Meeting meeting:

1.

Entry deadline: Closing date for entries is Friday 25th September 2020.

2.

Covid: Full Covid guidelines will follow nearer the time of the competition.

3.

Payment: Payment must be made in full, online before 25th September 2020. Sorry but cash or cheques will no longer be accepted.

4.

Marking duties: Competitor marking is required. Anyone shooting must provide a marker for all details. Anyone leaving early may forfeit some or all of their scores and prizes.

5.

Rules and Targets: As per NRA of UK unless otherwise stated.

6.

Ties: All ties will be decided on the count back system.

7.

Ammunition: Any ammunition, including handloads, provided the bullet weighs 155.5g or less. Random samples of ammo may be checked and dismantled.

8.

Membership: All non-Northern Ireland club members must pay 5 pounds temporary membership.
Competitors from GB wishing to bring firearms, must apply for a Certificate of Approval, Form 30_15 from the PSNI those from the Republic of Ireland need a 30_38. Both forms can be found on the PSNI website

9.

Deductions: Any competitor undergoing full-time education can claim 25 percent reduction in entry fees only.

10.

Blow Off shots: There will be no blow off shots for any class

11.

FTR class. The rules for FTR class are as follows
Sights. Scopes allowed FTR Optic category only
Front Rests. Bipod and or sling only
Rear Rests. Bag only no mechanical rests
Ammo. any 308 or 223 up to 155.5 grain

Scoring ALL competitors from ALL classes are to use the V Bull
system. i.e. a 48 with 7 v bulls should be recorded as a total of 48.7

14.

Changes to programme, prizes or final. The Range Committee reserves the right to amend the programme or prizes, particularly where there are small numbers of competitors in any class. The number of shooters in the Final may also be varied due to the number of competitors in each class or other relevant circumstances.

15.

Data Protection. The information we collect about competitors will be used to aid the running of the competition. Sometimes it is necessary for us to share this information with 3rd parties, specifically with Ballykinlar security office to facilitate access to the ranges on the dates of the competition. By entering the competition you agree that we may use your information for the purposes of running a smooth competition.

HME Testing. Any competitor using ammo that has a muzzle energy higher than 4500 joules must complete a special zeroing procedure at 200 yards before being allowed to fire again. Testing will be on Saturday morning at 9 am and on Sunday at 9 am if needed. You must indicate on your entry form if you require testing otherwise you will not be permitted to compete with HME ammo. NRA Rules of Shooting Appendix 18.

16.

Certificate of safety and competence. All UK competitors must produce a valid Certificate of Competency signed by their Club Chairman otherwise they will not be allowed to shoot. Republic of Ireland competitors must produce a letter from their club Chairperson confirming their competence.

17.

All competitors must be at range 3 by 8.45am to pick up their entry. The first detail will shoot at 0930 sharp.

18.

Ammunition will be available for purchase from Comber Rifle Club for the competition only on the Saturday morning. This must be paid for online before collection.

19.

Prize giving will be at 1630hrs on Sunday, or earlier if possible.

20.

The organisers request that shooters move to and from the butts as quickly as possible when given permission by the Range Butts Officers. Range Officers will try to make up time throughout the day by starting details as soon as the shooters are ready.
